Been meaning to update, but time is short all around. Long runs have been great, now we are in cruise mode, a few easy runs this week and next and then one last long run. Support for this has great, I am overwhelmed by the donations, good wishes and overall awesome support we have all seen.
The family has been great as Dad took off again for another run, the office has been very understanding as I disappear for hours on end, chasing another mile. Theatre staff has had to put up with my sometimes agressive attitude but they really have done a great job and this would have been impossible without their support.
April 19th will prove to be an emotional day all around as we look back over the past year and all we have been through. Our family is strong and has stuck together but is wonderful to know there are so many others out there that are helping with everything. Thank you all.

The weather is getting better, the running is getting easier and the fund raising is going well. What more could we ask for? Did 20 last Friday a few walking stops but still just over 9 minute miles. Yesterday in the great weather did 16 fast, no walking and the last 6 all under 8 minute miles. Best run yet, hopefully I haven’t peaked too soon. I am with Matt where the hell do all the banana peels come from? They are every where. Speaking to the others training is going well for all and we should be rearin to go come the 19th.

Why is it that everyday I have a long run planned the weather goes to hell? I am not a post man so I blew off my 16 miler yesterday and hope to do it Friday. Training still seems to be going well although my last long run was a real bummer. 20 Miles planned and at 13 I bonked, no gas, no energy , no fun, I finished the 20 but was miserable. Last week was a low milage week so now hopefully I have recovered and I will be good as new. Fundraising is going well but we still have a ways to go. If you are reading others blogs I only have one thing to say:
“Matt, be very afraid”

Well, reading the other blogs it is time for me to chime in. Last week Weylin asked me about his sore achilles, so I went to Runners World to find out what the reccomended therapy was. There was an article on avoiding winter injuries that I decided to read: Who knew that Penile frost bite was a major concern? If you read the other blogs, Matt and Lee had some worries this weekend!!!! Luckily it sounds as if they both returned unscathed with only “nearly freezing their knobs off” . Be safe out there!!!!!!!

16 miles on Wednesday: 5;45 am on the treadmill 6 miles unitil I could see streaks of light through the trees, up the stairs 3 minutes to change into warmer clothes and out the door for anonther 10 miles. Boy is this fun!!!!
Five miles today in the blastin wind, almost came to a dead stoop a couple of times, but I imagined I was sharing in the ice cream extravaganza backat the office and that was the cause of my headache , not the wind and bitter cold.
Next week is the big push for fundraising, with a lot of help from the theatre ( actually they did most of the work) letters are going out to thousands and e-mails will follow. Thank you everyone for your help and support.

The weather has been a bit tough this week. Got 10 miles in on Wednesday looking like an idiot our running in the freezing cold: gloves, face mask, slipping on the ice, oh what fun!!!!. Again, training for Boston in New England is nuts. We all appear to be getting our runs in now comeS the hard part FUND RAISING. The web site should go live within the week and then out go the mailings. We do not have much time but I am sure we can find the support to reach our goal.

Well, last week was ok at best. A long run in the rain, wind and snow. Then a quick trip to the sports store for $100 worth of waterproof, warm running gear. Was scheduled for 26 miles but only got in 21 due to weather, holiday fun and 5 days of skiing. (That must count for something!) At least I managed to not get hurt, which seems to be a problem for my running partners.
The past weeks weather really let us all know what we are in for, training for Boston while living in New England is not easy but I am sure we can all survive.
